Air Force Airman 1st Class Kathryn R. Raines graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Raines is the daughter of Daniela Joyce of Alcazar Avenue, Fort Myers, and sister of Claire Raines of Silver Maple Court, New Orleans, La., and Andrew Raines of Greenwood, Ind.

She is a 2005 graduate of Center Grove High School, Greenwood, Ind. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 2010 from Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Ky.
