CCA 9-10s roll into finals

Cape Coral American is one of the first Little League District 9 teams to advance to championship round play after knocking off North Fort Myers National 15-0 Friday night at Koza-Saladino Park.

Cape American was unbeaten in pool play, winning pool 1 in the 9-10 year-old Baseball division. The top two teams in each pool advance to the championship semifinals

Cape American hosts Fort Myers American at 11 a.m. Saturday in one semifinal while Buckingham visits South Fort Myers in the other semifinal.

The 10-11 Baseball division pits unbeaten Cape American against Hancock in their pool finale Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Little League Majors division, which started pool play Thursday, resumes Saturday with four games on tap. Cape American, Cape National and Hancock teams all host pool opponents today.

Junior Baseball division teams take the field again Sunday in their second pool play matchups. Friday night, Cape American opened pool play with a 21-10 victory over Cape National with a sixth-inning rally.

Double-elimination play begins Thursday in District 9 Senior Baseball, 9-10 Softball and Little League Softball divisions.

Cape Coral faces Buckingham in the opening round of the four-team Senior Baseball bracket with Hancock hosting South Fort Myers in the other matchup. Cape Coral hosts Fort Myers American in the two-team 9-10 Softball opener and Cape plays at Fort Myers American in the two-team Little League Softball series.
