Pirates 4, Marlins 3
Jeffrey Bitzer’s sacrifice-fly RBI capped a last at-bat rally that lifted the Pirates to victory. Jacob Crebbe (2-for-3), who singled in the inning, got in scoring position on an RBI double by Willy Trenum (2-for-3) and scored on Bitzer’s fly ball to shallow right field. Paul Weigandt struck out eight for thd Pirates. Nick Blank pitched five innings, striking out nine, for the Marlins and Zach Long was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and scored two runs.
Minor Division Championship
Braves 4, Reds 0
Jerrod Fowler pitched a no-hitter with nine strikeouts to lead the Braves’ win. One run scored on aggressive baserunning. With two outs, J. Fowler walked, Ryan Cronk doubled, Sammy Fowler hit a two-run triple and Brendan Hemphill finished it off with an RBI double.
