North Fort Myers High School junior Jackie Owen pitched a perfect game, won 23 games overall and led the Red Knights to their first appearance in the FHSAA Softball Finals this past season.

The postseason accolades continued Tuesday as Owen was named to the Miracle Sports 2009 Softball All-State first team in Class 5A.

It’s the second annual All-State team, selected by Miracle Sports of Melbourne.

Class 5A and 6A were released Tuesday. Classes 3A and 4A will follow Thursday and Class 1A and 2A on Saturday.

Owen finished the season with a 23-4 record, 204 strikeouts and a 0.77 ERA. She allowed only 19 earned runs all season.

The Red Knights went 27-4 and captured district and regional titles before losing to Venice in the state semifinals.

Fort Myers senior pitcher Lindsey Richardson, a University of South Florida signee, is a first-team selection with Owen.
