Prep Report: Bulldogs blast Knights

Ida Baker senior Dustin Mishka continued his home run tear, blasting a solo shot in the Bulldogs’ 17-3 win at North Fort Myers Tuesday night.

Mishka, who delivered a three-home run performance Monday against Estero, is 6-for-6 with four home runs, a triple and single in his last two games.

The Bulldogs had a lot of help against the Red Knights.

Freshman Ryan Pinto belted a two-run homer, his fifth of the year. Mike Gulotta (3-for-3) drove in four runs, and Ryan Hudson and Ryan Rogowski each added three RBI. Jake York went 3-for-5 with a double.

The Bulldogs (5-7) host Mariner Friday.

Mariner 15, Fort Myers 6: The fireworks began early for the Tritons against host Fort Myers. They even added a grand finale.

Alex Santana’s fifth-inning grand slam, his second of the season, put the finishing touches on their win over the Green Wave.

The Tritons jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning, which included a leadoff home run by Anthony Santo, his second in as many games, and a two-run blast by Daniel Alimonti, his third of the season. Michael Zunino, Bryan O’Connor and Santana each doubled in the first inning.

Santana finished 3-for-3 with five RBI and Alimonti went 3-for-5 with four RBI.

Ryan Patton picked up the win on the mound for the Tritons (9-0), who travel to Baker Friday.

Lemon Bay 7, Island Coast 0: Will Machin and Josh Guffey provided the only two hits for host Island Coast in a shutout loss to Lemon Bay.

Lemon Bay’s Jeff Goff stymied the Gators with a complete-game performance.

The Gators (4-7) host East Lee County Thursday.

Gulf Coast 15, Cape Coral 0: The visiting Sharks scored 10 runs in the sixth, capping their dominant win over the host Seahawks.

Alexander Torres, Tyler Wimberley and Jason Carmicheal delivered hits for the Seahawks (2-9).

The Seahawks host Fort Myers Thursday.

Cape Coral 6, North Fort Myers 1: Cape Coral took four of five singles matches and both doubles matches in a victory over North Fort Myers.

Abbey Gunderson picked up the No. 2 singles win for the Red Knights (2-6).

The Seahawks (6-1) host Ida Baker and North visits Mariner Thursday.
