CORAL GABLES – The FGCU women’s tennis team made its season debut Friday against one of their toughest opponents of the year, and the Eagles were no match for the 13th-ranked Miami Hurricanes, falling 7-0.

The Hurricanes got off to a strong start, winning all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point.

In the singles competition, Miami did not let up. With four of the six competitors ranked nationally, Miami claimed all six matches without losing a set.

The Eagles are back in action on Jan. 31, visiting the Florida Atlantic Owls in Boca Raton.
