Twins set ’09 spring training schedule
The Minnesota Twins released their 2009 Spring Training schedule Tuesday, a slate featuring 19 home games at Hammond Stadium.
The spring campaign marks the 19th season the Twins have trained at the Lee County Sports Complex in Fort Myers.
Twins pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report on Feb. 15, with their first workout slated for the next day. The rest of the squad reports Feb. 20, with full-squad workouts beginning Feb. 21.
The Twins’ spring home opener at Hammond Stadium is Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7:05 p.m. against the Boston Red Sox. Additional highlights of the 19-game home slate include two additional visits by the Red Sox (March 1 & April 2), the New York Yankees (Feb. 27 & March 20) and the AL Champion Tampa Bay Rays (March 27 & 30).
Two exhibitions against World Baseball Classic teams will be played at Hammond Stadium (Puerto Rico on March 3, The Netherlands on March 5).
Spring season and group tickets are on sale now and may be purchased by calling 1-800-33-TWINS or 612-33-TWINS.
Single-game tickets can be purchased beginning Jan. 10 online at www.twinsbaseball.com, by calling 1-800-33-TWINS or by visiting the Hammond Stadium box office – 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Ticket prices are: box seats $23; reserved $21; drink rail $21 and lawn $12. All ticket prices will be discounted to half price for the WBC exhibition games.
