By Staff | Nov 19, 2008

Florida Everblades goaltender Anton Khudobin was called up to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League Tuesday.

Khudobin, 22, heads to the Aeros after posting a 5-1-0 record with a 1.84 goals-against average in six games with the Everblades. Khudobin has won five straight starts, including his sixth career shutout on Nov. 8.

The native of Kazakhstan recently was named the ECHL Goaltender of the Week after going 2-0-0 with a 0.50 GAA during the week of Nov. 3-9.

Khudobin also spent time with the Aeros last season, playing 12 games with a 2-2-1 record with a 1.99 GAA.

The Everblades return to action Friday night when they travel to Augusta to take on the Lynx at James Brown Arena. The game is the first contest of the season’s longest road trip for the Everblades (8-2-1), a nine-game trek spanning 16 days that also includes stops at Gwinnett, Trenton, Reading, Johnstown and Elmira.

The Blades’ next home game is Dec. 12 when the South Carolina Stingrays drop in at Germain Arena.
