Cape outswims Mariner

Cape Coral High junior Carlos Alvarez and sophomore Jeanette Conrad earned victories in one-meter diving Monday in a dual meet against crosstown rival Mariner. It is the first time the Seahawks competed in diving this year.
The Seahawks defeated the Tritons in both the boys’ (102-55) and girls’ (117-37) meets.
Mariner’s Alex Stromeyer was timed in 27.09 seconds for first place in the 50 free, and the Tritons boys’ team won the 200 freestyle relay.
Tyler Tresher, Nick Keating, Graham Murza and Lauren Smith each won two individual events for the Seahawks.
The Seahawks host Mariner and Island Coast Thursday.

Gateway Charter 3, Cape Coral 0: The Seahawks were close, but just far enough off Monday night in a 25-11, 25-12, 25-17 loss to Gateway Charter.
Shelby Rowe was credited with 12 digs while Lindsey Turner had eight digs to go with six service aces. Jenn Lee added six aces.
The Seahawks (1-2) host Ida Baker Tuesday night.
Cypress Lake 3, Mariner 0: Courtney Anderson made six kills and Tara Christie made 14 digs, but it wasn’t enough as Mariner absorbed a 25-23, 25-16, 25-14 defeat at Cypress Lake.
The Tritons (1-2) pay a visit to Lehigh Tuesday night.
