For the third consecutive game, the Fort Myers Miracle benefited from outstanding pitching. Starter Deolis Guerra led the way Thursday night in a 5-1 win over the Sarasota Reds.

Guerra (6-1) went six innings, allowing just the one run on four hits. Five doubles led the Miracle (35-18) to their fourth-straight win.

The Miracle scored three runs in the top of the second with two outs. Juan Portes began the rally with a double to left and Danny Santiestiban drew a walk. Yangervis Solarte slapped a two-run double down the left-field line for the first two runs. Yancarlos Ortiz collected another two-out RBI.

Sarasota finally broke through in the second, collecting their first run in 19 innings. The Miracle answered with two more in the third for a 5-1 cushion.

The Miracle continue their road trip Friday at Tampa.

Earlier Thursday, it was announced that six Miracle players will participate in the Florida State League All-Star Game June 14 at Brevard County.

The players are pitchers Jeff Manship, Rob Delaney, Anthony Slama and infielders Danny Valencia and Brian Dinkelman. Outfielder Rene Tosoni was selected, but will miss the game due to a broken leg.
