Johnny Woodard’s triple in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the Fort Myers Miracle to a 6-5 come-from-behind win over the Tampa Yankees Thursday night at Hammond Stadium.

After the Yankees scored two runs to go ahead in the top of the ninth, the Miracle responded with a run to send it into extra innings. With their third straight victory, the Miracle (26-14) increase their Western Division lead to three games over the Yankees heading into Friday’s rematch at 10:35 a.m.

Tampa’s ninth began with a bunt single by Andres Perez and single to center by Seth Fortenberry. After a failed sacrifice-bunt attempt, a Kyle Anson was struck out by Miracle closer Rob Delaney putting the Miracle one-out away from a 4-3 win. Delaney’s wild pitch put both runners in scoring position and with two outs and a 3-2 count, Luis Nunez blooped a two-run single to right to put the Yankees up one.

Juan Portes, Yancarlos Ortiz and Brian Dinkelman singled to load the bases for Rene Tosoni, whose groundball to second produced the game-tying run.

The Miracle are 15-5 at home this season.
