The Mariner Tritons did not play the role of gracious hosts Friday night, thrashing Minneapolis Southwest 12-8.

Michael Zunino continued his torrid hitting streak with four RBI off two triples and a three-run first-inning home run, his eighth of the season, to lead the Tritons’ 15-hit attack.

James Carroll added a two-run homer in the fourth inning. A.J. Reyes (20for-4), Jake Weber (2-for-2) and Daniel Alimonti (2-for-3) also got in on the hit parade.

The Tritons (11-4) host city rival Cape Coral at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Ida Baker 8, North Fort Myers 5: Miles Rubinski drove in five runs with a double, a sacrifice fly and a two-run home run to power Ida Baker to victory over North Fort Myers.

Cody Coffman added a pair of hits for the Bulldogs while Blake Fraser contributed a double.

Ronald Petito (2-for-4) and Mike Becker (3-for-4) combined for five of the Red Knights’ seven hits.

Baker (9-8) visits Riverdale Tuesday.

North Fort Myers 4, Palmetto Ridge 1; North Fort Myers 7, Charlotte 3: Jackie Owen recorded her ninth pitching victory with a complete-game, five-hit, 14-strikeout effort in North Fort Myers’ victory over Palmetto Ridge in the first round of the 20th Tarpon Classic Tournament at Punta Gorda.

Micheala Schlotter doubled and Mariah Fernandez tripled while Jasmine Santiago came through with a pair of singles to lead the Red Knights.

North later beat Charlotte in the second round by bashing 13 base hits, all singles, led by Candice Coulter (2-for-4), Fernandez (3-for-3), Lexi Schlotter (2-for-4) and Alyssa Daugherty (2-for-4).

Jackie Owen (10-3) was the winning pitcher in both games. The Red Knights (13-3) continue tournament play Saturday.

Cape Coral 5, Mariner 2: Cape Coral took three of five singles matches and won twice in doubles to upend rival Mariner Friday.

Joel Silverberg, Alex Ragonese and Andrew Gonzales were victorious at singles. Mariner’s Aaron Smith notched a win at No. 1 singles.

Mariner returns to action Tuesday at Cypress Lake. Cape Coral visits Cypress Lake Wednesday.
