Rising ocean waters a concern for homeowners with seawalls
To the editor:
Are you a property owner with a seawall? I am, too, and we need help! I am not interested in the causes or reason for the water rise, but I am interested in the fact that the water is rising.
Oceans have been rising for some time and continue to rise at two or three pennies flat on top of each other per year. It doesn’t seem like much but over years our seawalls will come under more and more stress. The expense could become unmanageable to many Pine Island/Matlacha and Cape Coral property owners. The point is that we need property owners along with Lee County elected and appointed officials to develop a plan of action. We need a plan now and not 5 or 10 years from now.
