To the editor:

Regarding the impeachment demonstration in Cape Coral on Dec. 17, 2019:

I am a Democrat supporting impeachment. This demonstration was a poor example of how Democrats should act for the following reasons.

1. Don’t quote Michelle Obama “when they go low, we go high” and when the next chant is “lock him up.”

2. Why wasn’t there a permit and police to keep the anti-demonstrators separate? Everyone has a right to their opinion, but not in the same area.

3. Don’t use Move On’s mailing list to promote your business. Maybe not illegal, but seems very close to the principles of the emoluments clause.

4. Where were the speakers talking about the real issue? Defending the constitution and the Senate’s oath to be impartial jurors.

5. This demonstration was very amateurish. Democrats, we can do better. This is not about removal from office. Mitch McConnell already said that is not going to happen. It is all about how viewers view the Republicans in the next election. Let’s show the voters that Democrats are the type of people they want representing us them Washington.
