Not campaigning?
To the editor:
The President recently had planned a campaign trip to Fort Myers. Due to the massacre in Aurora, Colo., he had to cut his fund-raisers short.
Think about it. He was in northern Florida and could have done a press conference from up there and returned to Washington, D.C. But no, he flew into Fort Myers with the preliminary figures of taxpayer dollars of $24,000 for approximately eight minutes of a speech. This does not include the Haborside Convention Center along with the police, fire costs for security. Yet, he stated in his speech this was not a time for campaigning. I don’t know what you call it, but I say he was campaigning by not going back to Washington from northern Florida.
