Character trumps politics
To the editor
Last week, to my surprise, I came home to find a Gary Aubuchon campaign sign in my yard placed there with the permission of my wife. Since that time I have had a discussion with Jackie as to why, after being an ardent supporter, I can no longer support him in this current campaign or any future campaigns. She fully agrees with my reason.
It all comes down to his endorsement of political opportunist Dane Eagle, a young man so blinded with political ambition that he will say anything, be anything to get elected. This is a guy who worked for Charlie Crist’s ill-fated Senate run against Marco Rubio even after Crist left the Republican Party. Alas, it appears the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.
Gary did a great job for us in Tallahassee, but for me character trumps political opportunism so I will have to look toward Kreegel, Goss or Donalds. As for Eagle’s state house race, I’ll take Chris Berardi’s integrity and steadfast conservative vision any dayhe’s also the only real Republican in the race.
