No re-Pete
To the editor:
Voters really need to pay attention at the September primary and make sure mistakes are not repeated. We have endured a ruthless period in our local politics these past few years with assaults against residents and city employees; Pete Brandt is one of those. I had to laugh at the slogan “continued common sense” appearing in the back of his supporters’ T-shirts. The slogan should be rephrased with “continued lack of common sense.”
Pete’s record as a council member lacks achievement and is replete with stagnation – nothing has moved forward in our city these past two years at the hands of the RAGs. All we hear are excuses, audits and putting off projects, sensational headlines which go nowhere, paying for wives to go out on the town and a city manager without experience to run a city.
I will remember Pete Brandt as a forgetful council member who seldom added anything worthwhile to any conversation and seemed to navigate in a fog most of the time. His age is a factor to be considered as is his lack of performance. Pete will be 84 by the time he finishes his term in office. Common sense alone should tell you to consider others when you cast your vote.
Do our city a favor with a NO vote for Pete Brandt there are more alert and qualified candidates running for office in District 2 and we deserve a better choice.
