Treat all disabled vets with equal compassion
To the editor:
Is the city violating its own ordinances by allowing Corey Kent’s family to build onto their home and add a separate entrance, thereby turning a single family residence into a duplex in an area zoned strictly for single family homes?
I tried to do that after I was discharged from Bay Pines V.A. Hospital and was turned down by the city. I am strictly wheelchair bound and a 100 percent service connected war vet, too. Also, I was told they couldn’t waive any fees if I had my house remodeled to fit my disability needs.
I guess Vietnam vets don’t matter to Cape Coral.
Also, did the Kents’ apply to the V.A. for financial assistance of up to $50,000 for home remodeling for disabled vets?
