To the editor:

I don’t understand why Cape Coral is trying to give the people another bill by starting the water assessments at this time.

The people in this northeast area – or anywhere in the Cape – can’t afford more payments. The city council needs to really think about this. Remember that you are voted into office and can be voted out of the same office.

Most in South Florida can’t pay the bills they have now and they are in foreclosure. You want to add a $9,000 dollar bill. Where do you think we are going to get this money?
