Monday night entertainment will be missed
To the editor:
What am I going to do Monday evenings since the Cape Coral city council is on hiatus (vacation) until July 13?
I will miss their smiling faces. I will miss their long-winded discussions as they are “trying” to spend our money wisely. Where else can I go; get educated and entertained at the same time?
Most of all, I will miss the three-minute citizens input time and the rebuttals from council members. I’m really going to miss my bi-weekly dessert of “humble pie.” (Bi-weekly; citizens input every other week)
I’m savoring the last humble pie thrown at me at the last council meeting on June 8. Councilwoman Tate, however, missed most of my face, and the blueberry humble pie – my favorite – ended up on my suit. What a shame. A perfectly good pie went to waste, and now I have to send my suit to the cleaners. How much will that cost me? Oh well, I have plenty of Hawaiian shirts to wear. They are more colorful, and thus an easier target.
I can hardly wait until July 20; the next council meeting including citizens input. Hopefully my suit will be back from the cleaners; perhaps I should dress Hawaiian? I certainly don’t want Councilwoman Tate to think that I’m rich, or have come into some money.
My suits, if my memory serves me correctly, were purchased in 1994. They have been stored in my cedar closets since I am now retired.
I am not much of a shopper; after I buy only what I need; not what I want.
I wish city council would do the same.
