Council ‘vision’ is one taxpayers can ill afford
To the editor:
Because of shortsighted decisions with long-term cloudy vision the city of Cape Coral council members want to place more financial burden on a select group of homeowners by means of the UEP.
In a time of record job loss, home foreclosure, declining home values and economic downturn can we really afford to pay for the City Council’s vision of our future?
Two of these visionaries, Dolores Berto-lini and Gloria Tate, are up for re-election on Sept. 15.
The 57,000 lot and homeowners in north Cape Coral targeted for outrageous property fees and assessments just to save the current utility customers from a rate hike, need to send City Council a message.
Hopefully by the time we all receive our payment plans and or liens on our homes, three of the people responsible will be looking for new part-time jobs in the private sector.
As for me, I’m going to keep my answering machine on so as not to miss the next automated boil water notice.
