A name is just a fact

By Staff | Oct 11, 2008

To the editor,

“Jason Ralph Barrett” are three words that I remember my mom and dad saying to me, especially when I was in trouble. Due to recent events, I have decided to file a lawsuit against my parents because these three words have offended me and my parents are officially racist.

How stupid is this statement? Some may say it’s absolutely absurd and ridiculous. I agree 100 percent, but it’s no different from what Sheriff Scott said at the Sarah Palin rally Monday afternoon. Sheriff Scott simply stated a fact, (something that the Democratic Party has yet to do this election season) and the NAACP and others are demanding an apology from Sheriff Scott for saying a fact.

Ladies and gentleman, let me make you aware of a small simple fact. Obama’s real whole name is Barack Hussein Obama. Whoops, now I’m racist, let me apologize right now for stating Obama’s real name. Critics have stated that Scott is racist because by stating Obama’s real name, it ties him to the Muslim religion. Let me state another fact: Muslim is not a race, it’s a religion, therefore how can Sheriff Scott be a racist if being Muslim is a religion? I guess this makes Sheriff Scott a religionist.

Ladies and gentleman, our economy is going down the toilet, Wall Street has hit an all time low, unemployment is rising, and we are losing lives in Iraq, but the Democrats want to direct your attention to the fact that Sheriff Scott said “Barack Hussein Obama.”

What happened to sticking to the facts and attacking real issues head on? Maybe I missed the CNN report that calling Americans by their whole name was a national crisis.

Ladies and gentleman, what have we learned from all this?

1) Don’t call anyone by their full name. You’ll be labeled a racist.

2) Finally, now I know why the national Democratic symbol is a “jackass.”

Save America,

Vote for John McCain / Sarah Palin 08
