For the record

By Staff | Oct 4, 2008

To the editor:

For the record I want to let you know I was the one who prompted the investigation after viewing the May 5 council meeting.

There was a technical violation but not enough evidence to prosecute.

The reason I did this is because I believe that no one in this country is above the law. The council works for all of the people who live here in the Cape.

The reason I do not go to the council meetings is because I am in a electric wheel chair and would need special accommodations. However I do watch all meetings online or Cape TV.

For the record, my daughter had nothing to do with this investigation and I take full responsibility for prompting this investigation.

I also believe it is my civic duty to keep a watchful eye on all government and report a possible violation of the law.

The government works for we the people not for we the government.

Thank you for letting me tell my side of the story.
