Draining reserves would not result in lower gas prices
To the editor:
Well here we go again. The geniuses in Washington have put their collective brains (?) together, both in the House and the Senate and have spent untold hours cogitating about the runaway price of oil.
Their solution?
Blame the President for continuing to fill the reserve. That is when the reserve is already 97 percent of capacity and were talking an additional 3 percent. At present world consumption we are statistically talking about one third of one percent (.003) of the daily global consumption. Let’s not forget that the price of oil is still rising and the experts (?) say it could go as high as $200 a barrel. I must be a dummy, but would someone out there please tell me how all this posturing will save me a penny at the pump.
