Even taxpayers who wince at the city of Cape Coral’s near-maximum tax rate complain little about services provided by a pair of municipal departments – public safety and parks and recreation.

Our crime rate is low, our fire department is well trained and professional, and our parks system is second to none in Southwest Florida.

The system runs a wide and diverse gamut which the city’s web site, capecoral.net , sums up succinctly:

“Consisting of more than 35 locations (731 developed acres), the Department features waterfront parks, playgrounds, athletic complexes, community centers, tennis amenities, a youth center and skate park, a gymnasium, boat ramps, a full scale waterpark, Sun Splash Family Waterpark, and Coral Oaks, Cape Coral’s premier public Golf Course. Programs, classes, and special events are planned year round for all ages, abilities, and interests.”

Our parks are well maintained and the programs offered are both plentiful and reasonably priced.
