Michael Camarro
Michael Camarro, 98, passed away at Maine General Medical Center in Waterville, Maine, June 16, 2012. He was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of Domenico and Theresa Camarro.
He retired and moved from New Jersey to Cape Coral in 1978. He worked part-time at Metz Funeral Home and was an active member at St. Andrew Catholic Church, where he served as an usher at the 10:30 mass for over 20 years. He was a Sir Knight of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus and also sponsored his son-in-law, Ray, who became a Fourth Degree Sir Knight as well.
After living in Cape Coral for 33 years, his daughter, Wilma, and son, Paul, moved him and his wife of 65 years, Wilma, in 2011 from their home in Cape Coral to Maine.
Survivors include his wife, Marion, known as “Wilma;” his children, including his oldest son, Michael D. Camarro of Cape Coral, and youngest daughter, Donna (Ray) Murray of Cape Coral, his son, Paul (Claudia) Camarro of New Jersey and daughter Wilma (John) Lombardi of Maine. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Danielle Barone, Jaclyn Millitech, Christina Hickman, Allyson Murray, Linda Jurdak, John Lombardi, Nathaniel Lombardi, Michelle Flett and Lisa Camarro. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, Dominic and Michael Barone (sons of Danielle), Anthony Murray (son of Christina), Nicholas and Sophia Millitech (children of Jaclyn), Ava and Benjamin Jurdak (children of Linda) and Adrianna and Anthony Lombardi (children of John)
Interment was in Waterville, Maine, on June 19.
