Mary Regina Layman

Mary Regina Layman, 80, of Cape Coral died Aug. 26, 2011, in Cape Coral. She was born in Fairfield, Pa., June 10, 1931.

She attended St. Joseph’s High School in Emmitsburg, Md. She married Thomas in 1967 and lived in Thurmont, Md. She worked for Arby’s for many years. She moved to Cape Coral in 1993 from Pennsylvania.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas of Cape Coral; four children, Beverly Wells of North Carolina, Dennis Wetzel of West Virginia, Sharon Cox and Joyce Godfrey of Kansas; siblings, R. Leo Topper, Donald Topper, Patricia Hewitt, Miriam Barefoot, Dolores Martin and Paul Topper, all of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Gertrude Topper; one daughter, Mary Ellen Rouan; and her brothers, Francis and Joseph Topper.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m., today, Aug. 30, at St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Interment will take place in Pennsylvania.
