Donald L. Duchesne

Donald L. Duchesne, 73, of Cape Coral died on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral. He was born on Nov. 8, 1937, in Lowell, Mass., a child of Edmond and Cecile (Martin) Duchesne.

A resident of Cape Coral for the past 14 years, he was originally from Lowell, Mass., where he was a police officer for 25 years. He was an Air Force veteran and attended St. Katherine Drexel Church in Cape Coral.

He is survived by his children, Donna M. Duchesne, Denise Sarault, Deborah Duchesne and Daniel Duchesne, all of Massachusetts; his grandchildren; his mother, Cecile Duchesne of Milton, N.H.; his brothers, Dennis and Edmond Duchesne, both of New Hampshire; his sister, Pearl Rivard of Massachusetts; his companion, Brenda L. Grubbs and her children, Thomas A. Hurley Jr. of Pennsylvania, Mark Hurley of Massachusetts and Michelle Lee Cleary of New Hampshire.

He was predeceased by his father, Edmond Duchesne.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated today, July 19, at 11 a.m., in St. Katherine Drexel Church, 1922 S.W. 20th Ave., Cape Coral. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
