Charles R. “Chuck” Williams

Charles R. “Chuck” Williams, 55, of Cape Coral entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral after a brave battle with cancer. He was born on Nov. 7, 1953, in Elizabeth, N.J., a child of Robert and Carol Williams.

He grew up in Fords, N.J., and graduated in 1971 from Woodbridge High School and in 1977 received a masters degree in music education from Hart School of Music, Hartford, Conn.

He was an accomplished musician. He played clarinet with the Guadalajara Symphony Orchestra in Mexico, and found a calling in worship music. He wrote and composed his own music for his CD “First Steps” in 1997. He was an administrator and resident worship musician of The Vineyard Community Church, Cape Coral, where he was referred to as the “Sax Man.” He enjoyed playing tennis and spending time with his family.

He was the manager of Ann Taylor Distribution Center in New Haven, Conn., and was vice president of Ann Taylor U. S. Distribution Center, Louisville, Ken. When he moved to Cape Coral, he owned Coast to Coast Fence Company and Acorn Business Advisors. He was a member of the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce, Christian Chamber of Commerce and BNI. Mr. Williams is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Christine (McCool) Williams; his sons, Jasen Charles and Robert John, both of Cape Coral; his parents, Robert and Carol Williams of Clayton, N.Y., his siblings, Ginny (Dave) Delaney of Wallingford, Conn., Barbara (Brian) Mills of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Tom (Tina) Williams of Cape Vincent, N.Y.

A Memorial Worship Service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, at 6 p.m. in The Vineyard Community Church, 923 S.E. 47th Terrace, Cape Coral.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to either the above named church or Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
