Ida Lou ‘Toodles’ Martin

Ida Lou “Toodles” Martin, 74, of Cape Coral, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009. She was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Clifton, Va., to Dick and Amanda Banner.

She moved to Cape Coral from Virginia 12 years ago. She was a volunteer with Hope Hospice. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving family, including children, Barbara Hill, Brenda Shomette, Carl Reamus DePriest, Johnny DePriest, Donny DePriest and Mickey DePriest; stepdaughters, Betty Anne Fulk and Barbara Martin; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Elbert Detwiler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Martin; and son, David DePriest.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. today at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 Pine Island Road. Funeral services will be held at Price Funeral Home in Manassas, Va., with burial to follow at Stonewall Memorial Gardens in Manassas, Va.
