Clara Belle Benedic

Clara Belle Benedic, 75, of St. James City, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009. She was born May 16, 1933, in Orleans, Ind., to Roy and Olive (nee: Busick) Moon.

She started coming to Pine Island in the winter of 1981, and then moved here full-time about 15 years ago.

She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of the Moose Lodge, both on Pines Island, and also the American Legion in New Albany, Ind. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her loving family, including her stepson, Glenn (Carol) Coffman of New Albany, Ind.; granddaughter, Amy Price of Sellersburg, Ind.; nephew, Dale Moon; nieces, Karen and Patricia Moon and their children; and sister-in-law, Mary Moon.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Coffman; and brother, Clifford Moon.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, with the funeral service at 4 p.m. at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 Pine Island Road. Entombment and funeral services will be held Saturday at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Ind. Contact Kraft-Graceland for the time.

The family suggests memorial donations in her memory be made to the National Arthritis Association and FISH of Pine Island, Bokeelia.
