Karen Sue Thompson
Often described as “everybody’s mom,” Karen Sue (nee: Compton) Thompson, 74, of Cape Coral and formerly of Marionville, Mo., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 10, 1934, and raised by Samuel Paul and Ellen (nee: Carlson) Compton, now deceased.
She and her two brothers, Sam and John, were raised in Marionville, Mo. She was a genuine, warm and kind woman who would open her doors and her arms to anyone.
Full of fun and adventure, she lived in New York, Los Angeles, London, Chicago and Kansas City. She traveled widely with her beloved husband, David, with whom she is reunited in heaven.
She is survived by her three children; brother; two grandchildren; nieces; nephew; and many friends.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Saturday. Family will receive friends at 3 p.m. at Fuller Cape Coral Funeral Home-Cremation Service, 3740 Del Prado Blvd. S.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to P.E.O. and educational foundation for women, where she was a chapter DF member.
