Van E. Eitel

Van E. Eitel, 79, of Cape Coral, died, Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, in Cape Coral. He was born to Sherman and Iva Queen (nee; Martin) Eitel, now deceased, in Adair County, Mo., on Oct. 30, 1929.

He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, continuing his serving for the U.S. Government with Agriculture.

He moved to Cape Coral in 2006 from Arlington, Va., where he was a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 32nd Degree Mason, International 4H Club, American Legion and NARFE.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Irene; daughters, Linda Eitel of Alexandria, Va., and Mary Alice Daly of Bradywine, Md.; along with four step-children; three brothers, Forrest, Ferris and Linden Eitel; sister, Roseva Albertson; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Van E. Eitel II; and brother, Hugh Eitel.

Memorial gifts may be made to Hope Hospice of Cape Coral in Van’s memory.

The funeral will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m., at Fuller Cape Coral Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd., South.

Burial in Sarasota National Cemetery will be private. The family will receive friends from the hours of noon – 2 p.m.
