Armanda Teresa ‘Terri’ Morrison
Armanda Teresa “Terri” Morrison, of Cape Coral, was called home by the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, after a brief illness with leukemia. She passed away peacefully with her sons and daughters-in-law by her side. She was born Dec. 22, 1941, in Bronx, N.Y., to her parents, Oscar and Josephine Duarte, now deceased.
She moved to Cape Coral in 1968. She graduated from Barry University with a bachelor’s degree. She was a dedicated employee to Mitch Collier State Farm Insurance Agency for 25 years.
She was a volunteer at the Cape Coral Library. She also was a 24-year member of the Cape Coral Caloosa Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, a two-term president, woman of the year, delegate to the Southwest Florida Council and chairwoman of numerous committees.
Nine years ago, she conceived the idea to decorate builder model homes to raise money for scholarships for women in the Cape Coral community. “Home for the Holidays” celebrated its ninth anniversary Saturday with its opening night gala.
She was a wonderful mentor and role model to young business women in the organization.
She is survived by her sons, Keith and Kevin Morrison, and their wives, Lynn and Joan; along with her grandchildren, Brian, Matthew, Caitlin, Kyle, Chloe and Kelsey.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life and the love she poured out on them will forever live on through them.
She was a dedicated mother and grandmother as well as a loyal friend to many. She was an inspiration to all who met her. She will be dearly missed and loved by everyone.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
