Leonard J. Terpening
Leonard J. Terpening, 75, of Cape Coral, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008. He was born May 4, 1938, in Newport, R.I., a son of the late Charles J. and Miriam E. Terpening.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired as a first sergeant with 30 years of military service.
He was an active volunteer for more than 15 years with the Cape Coral Hospital Auxiliary and had resided here for the past 24 years coming from Copperas Cove, Texas.
He is survived by his son, Gus E. Bloom; daughters, Bambi Ann Terpening-Wallen and Merry A. Hills; grandchildren, Tommy, Jasmine, Amber, Jack, Sky and Luna; great-grandson, Zachery; brother, Samuel A. (Carol Ann) Terpening; and sisters, Dorothy (Charles) Kent and Elsie Dettlinger.
A remembrance service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
