Ruth T. Langer
Ruth T. Langer, 84, of Fort Myers, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008. She had been ill for several years. She was born Dec. 3, 1923, in Manhattan, N.Y., the daughter of Ruth and Winfred Trimble.
She and her family lived for a short time in Long Island, N.Y., and Illinois, before moving to Palm Beach, Fla. She attended Palm Beach High school while her father ran a charter boat, “Ruth and Win,” off of Palm Beach Island.
She eventually married the love of her life, Donald. They raised four beautiful children while her husband worked a newspaper in Manhattan, N.Y.
She was always active in the community doing work for organizations such as the GOP and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She and her husband moved to Cape Coral in 1971 where they lived until her husband’s death in 2004.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy McSherry; loving children, Steven and Gloria Langer, Nancy Logan, Laura Adams and Donna Langer; and grandchildren, Catherine Langer, Jennifer Weldon, Jessica Galison, Zachary Adams and Daniel Logan.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3950 Winkler Extension, Fort Myers.
Charitable donations may be made in her name to Hope Hospice of Fort Myers.
