Perneta Scott

Perneta Scott, 81, of Cape Coral died Sept. 30, 2008. She was born June 16, 1927, in Jamaica, West Indies, a daughter of Arthur and Irene McLean, now deceased.

She was retired from a manufacturing company that made surgical instruments. She was an avid gardener.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Allen McLean.

Surviving are her son, Winston (Paulette) Coke of Cape Coral; a granddaughter, Janella Joyner Coke of Conn.; a brother, Roy (Hazel) McLean of Conn.; her sisters, Elizabeth McLean, Verna McLean, Uphema Chambers, all of England and Mervis Mitchell of Georgia.

Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 10, in the chapel of Coral Ridge Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.

The funeral will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Coral Ridge Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Coral Ridge Cemetery.
