Livinus Leon Willaerts

Livinus Leon Willaerts, 85, of Cape Coral, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, in Cape Coral. He was born Jan. 28, 1923, in Belgium to Frans and Carolina (nee: Middernacht) Willaerts, now deceased.

He honorably served our country during World War II with the underground resistance.

A lifetime member of the VFW and an active member of the Elks Club of Cape Coral, he also was an avid fisherman, golfer, dancer and artist. During his working career, he was an entrepreneur and international businessman in various industries.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mildred; stepchildren, Albert “Buzz” Kalcun and Emily (Richard) Mason; stepgrandsons, Scott and Craig Mason; sister, Julia Aubermann; granddaughter, Tasha King; great-grandchildren, Kenji and Emiko King; nieces and nephews, Nancy Couch, Linda Barlekamp, John Aubermann, Karen Loren and Anthony Aubermann.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today at Fuller Cape Coral Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd. S. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
