Chester K. Heicher

Chester K. Heicher, 101, of North Fort Myers, passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2008. He was born in Chicago, Ill., the son of Fred and Matilda (Ripka) Heicher.

He became a Cape Coral pioneer when he moved here in 1964. He built the first house on Bayshore Drive.

He was an avid HAM radio operator and served as president of the local HAM club. He was also a member of the American Radio Relay League.

He is survived by his cousin, Evelyn Sheppley Gallas (Leroy) of North Fort Myers; and Evelyn’s decedents, Phyllis Witty (Charles) of Cape Coral and Traci Barker and children, Andrew and Jessica.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Metz Funeral Chapel, 1306 Lafayette St. The family will receive friends from 11-11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest beside his mother at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
