Margaret ‘Peg’ P. Whiting

Margaret “Peg” P. Whiting, 91, of Cape Coral, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers. She was born Oct. 18, 1916, in Belmar, N.J., to the late Clinton and Cordelia Polhemus

She received her master’s degree and served 30 years in education. She retired from the New Jersey Department of Education. She was a member of many social organizations.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Judy (Joseph) Hansen and Janice (the late Jack) Woods; sister, Sarah Nobile; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one niece; and  two  nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Whiting; and brother, George C. Polhemus.

A memorial service will be private in Cape Coral. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Glenwood Cemetery in West Long Branch, N.J.
