Joseph L. Liszak
Joseph L. Liszak, 61, of Cape Coral, passed away with his wife and children by his side on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Rockland County, N.Y.
In 1992, after retiring from a career with the Stony Point Police Department, he and his family moved to Cape Coral. Most recently he was working on Fort Myers Beach as a member of the Beach Patrol. He was a dedicated civil servant and spent his life helping others.
He was an avid antique car and Harley Davidson enthusiast and a boater for many years. He will always be remembered by the men in his department as a true cop’s cop. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by family, friends and co-workers.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jacqueline; daughter, Jennifer Ingenito of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sons, Travis Liszak of Arcadia, Fla., and Joseph Liszak of Ohio; granddaughter, Bianca Faith Ingenito; and niece, Cheryl Liszak Jenkins of Walden, N.Y.
He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Liszak Sr. of Toledo, Ohio; mother, Bernadine (Robbins) Liszak of Haverstraw, N.Y.; brother, Michael Liszak of Perrysburg, Ohio; and son, Todd Liszak.
Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Coral Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 Pine Island Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Hope Hospice.
