Frank L. DeLorenzo Jr.

Frank L. DeLorenzo Jr., 79, was born Feb. 16, 1929, in Mount Vernon, N.Y., and died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008.

A 17-year resident of Cape Coral, he was the son of Frank and Mary DeLorenzo, now deceased. He was the last survivor of 13 siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Thelma; children, James (Patty) of Mohegan Lake, N.Y., Janet (Rocco) Penna of West Harrison, N.Y., Frank of Cape Coral, Carole (Murray) Lederman of Easton, Pa., Steven of Monticello, N.Y., Derek of Princeton, N.J., Paul (Dawn) of Monticello, N.Y., Daniel (Terry) of Monticello, N.Y., and Peter (Sharon) of White Plains, N.Y.; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a 56-year member of the Knights of Columbus, currently with St. Katharine Drexel Council #11177, the Father Christopher Gaynor Assembly 2115.

He was a member of the Cape Coral Power Squadron, and a former member of the Cape Coral Optimist Club and the Cape Coral Democratic Club.

A memorial service will be held today, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Community Church.
