Charlotte Helen Krish
Charlotte Helen Krish, 84, of Cape Coral, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008. She was born May 5, 1924, in Eastchester, N.Y., to her parents, Jerry and Anna Veprek, now deceased.
She married Edward M. Krish in 1943 and moved to Cape Coral with him in 1983 from Yonkers, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edward; sister, Anna O’Riley; and brother, Jerry Veprek.
She is survived by son, Edward (Judy) of Cottonwood, Ariz., and daughter, Carolyn McAleese (Richard) of Wappingers Falls, N.Y. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert Krish (Denice), David and Jessica McAleese; great-grandchildren, Allison and Andrew Krish; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins scattered across the country.
Family and friends were always welcome at Charlotte and Ed’s Cape Coral home. They remember with fondness the hospitality and kindness shown by this warm and caring hostess.
Charlotte was a consummate player of penny poker and other card games. Company at her house always found themselves part of a rousing and fun game session. She also loved to go junking — 10 garage sales by noon was not unheard of. With her passing, other penny poker players are safe and garage sales are less attended.
At this moment she is playing penny poker with her husband, Ed, and St. Peter and visiting all of the garage sales at the mansions in heaven.
Visitation for friends and family will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. with a scripture wake service to be conducted at 7 p.m. at the Metz Funeral Chapel, at 1306 Lafayette St. A funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
Arrangements by the Metz Chapel of Harvey-Engelhardt-Metz Funeral Homes and Crematory.
