Christopher M. McCartin

Christopher M. McCartin, 47, of Cape Coral, died Friday, March 21, 2008, at his home. He was born Feb. 2, 1961, in Rolla, Mo.

He moved to Southwest Florida with his family in 1972 and was one of the first 1,000 families to take up residence in Cape Coral. He graduated from Bishop Verot High School in 1977. He was employed at the Veranda Restaurant in Fort Myers for the past 23 years.

He was an avid country music fan who enjoyed collecting guitars and other memorabilia. He will be remembered for the open door policy at his home where family and friends were always welcome.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael, in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy of Cape Coral; mother, Rose Ann McCartin of Cape Coral; brothers, Michael (Jennifer) McCartin of Warrenton, Va., Patrick (Francine) McCartin of Cape Coral and Andrew (Val) McCartin of Orange Park, Fla.; nephews, Michael, Kyle, Tyler, Connor and Shane; and “best friend,” Barley.

No services are immediately planned. A celebration of life is planned in the near future. Details will be made available.
