Norma Jean Nichols

Norma Jean Nichols, 76, of Cape Coral, formerly of Mexico, Mo., died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral. She was born June 25, 1931, in Kansas City, Kan., the oldest of 15 children of Don Paris Jeffries Sr. and Ola (Love) Jeffries.

She was employed for more than 33 years in the business office of Southwestern Bell in Mexico, Mo., and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Rocky Mount Baptist Church. A resident of Cape Coral for the past three years, she attended the Coral Ridge Baptist Church in Cape Coral.

She was a loving person who devoted her life to her family. She worked hard and was a true Baptist. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with her family. After retirement from the phone company, she and her family moved to Cape Coral and she lived in the warm sunshine. She loved the beach and the plants and flowers there.

Always in our hearts and forever loved.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Roger R. Nichols; sons, John Admire of Eldon, Mo., Jeff (Margaret Scofield) Admire and Steven (Jennifer) Nichols, all of Cape Coral; brothers, Carl (Carol) Jeffries of Mexico, Mo., Harold (Marsha) Jeffries of Lake Ozark, Mo., John Jeffries of Fulton, Mo., Lloyd Jeffries of Fulton, Mo., Clifford (Lucille) Jeffries of Mexico, Mo., and Howard (Cindy) Jeffries of Mexico, Mo.; sisters, Pauline (John) Jenkins of Jefferson City, Mo., Lois (Don) McDermitt, Charlette (Bill) Wilson, Wanda (Bob Sr.) Davis and Martha (Larry) Brown, all of Mexico, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the grandmother of Samantha Nichols, and sister of Don Jeffries Jr., Sue Rose and Mae Kelsay, all deceased.
