A black Kia Sorrento was reported stolen Thursday from a home.

At about 6:15 p.m., Cape Coral police responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft in the 200 block of Nicholas Parkway West. A man told police that he awoke to find that his car had been taken without his permission.

The vehicle is a 2011 and bears the Florida tag LUVVAN.

According to a police report, the car is valued at about $23,000.

The man offered up a possible person who might have taken it.

He also was missing $50 in cash and a bank debit card.

The report states that the man attempted to cancel the debit card and learned that it had been used to withdraw $100 from an ATM and then used to make a $12 purchase at a gas station. The person left the card there.

Police recovered the card from the gas station as evidence.
