Health & wellness expo set for Aug. 27
BJ’s Wholesale Club will host its first Health, Wellness and Safety Expo later this month to provide the opportunity for the entire community to partake in various free screenings.
The free event will be held on Aug. 27 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at BJ’s Wholesale Club at 1929 NE Pine Island Road.
Community relations specialist Sandra Aguilar said the expo is replacing their annual Taste of the Town event. She said the club wanted to try something different and decided to host the Health, Wellness and Safety Expo.
Although it is the first year BJ’s is hosting the expo in Cape Coral, Aguilar said clubs at other locations have hosted them before.
“We want to be able to provide some free services,” she said about the change in events.
The expo will feature free finger printing by the Cape Coral Police Department, a variety of free screenings by the Lee Memorial Health System and free vision screening by the BJ’s optical department.
“The community can come in and try it at no charge,” she said about the screenings.
The Florida Blood Center also will have its blood mobile at the event for those who wish to donate their blood.
The event also will feature arts and crafts, entertainment and door prizes.
“It is open to everyone,” she said.
Aguilar said they are anticipating a good crowd for the expo.
