The final member in a group of five accused of more than 30 residential burglaries throughout Lee County has a hearing scheduled Monday.
Kevonus Levon Green, 21, of 1834 Delaware Ave., Fort Myers, will go before Judge Mark Steinbeck. Green is charged with racketeering, along with various counts of burglary, grand theft, larceny and grand theft of a motor vehicle.
He has been nolle prossed, or not prosecuted, on one count of conspiracy to violate RICO and one count of dealing in organized stolen property, according to court documents.
In March 2010, Green and three others were charged following a 16-month investigation by the Cape Coral police. Detectives had been investigating the group in connection to a high number of property crimes reported in the city.
During the investigation, Cape detectives found that the individuals were working in concert to commit the crimes. Detectives later learned that the group was responsible for more than two dozen crimes across Lee County.
Officials reported the group was known and referred to as “Ohio Street” because the members shared a connection with Ohio Street in Fort Myers.
The other three individuals charged in the case were:
– Chris Lloyd Brown, 23, of 1901 Starnes Ave., Fort Myers
– Tenorris Cummings, 25, of 1834 Delaware Ave., Fort Myers
– John Altorance Johnson, 20, of 4655 Deleon St., Apt. 261, Fort Myers
Brown has since been sentenced to seven years in prison, followed by five years of probation, according to officials at the State Attorney’s Office.
Cummings has been sentenced to six years in prison, followed by five years of probation, and Johnson since has been sentenced to four years in prison, followed by two years of youthful offender probation, officials reported.
All three must also make restitution for what they stole.
In April 2010, a fifth person was charged in the case: Randy L. Bailey.
Bailey, 22, of 2444 Park Road, Lehigh Acres, has been sentenced to 10 years, followed by six years of probation. He also must make restitution.
