Identification of body found along Caloosahatchee still unknown
The body of a man that washed ashore on East Riverside Drive this morning has been turned over the the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police confirm that the body is that of an African American man however his identity remains unknown Saturday night. It is unclear how long his body has been in the Caloosahatchee River and there are no visible signs of trauma, officials said.
The body was discovered at 7:53 a.m. at 3193 East Riverside Drive.
Fort Myers police are continuing their investigation.
