Cape Coral residents who wish to attend Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s campaign rally in Fort Myers can pick up tickets starting at 9 a.m. today at the Republican campaign office, located at 2002 Del Prado Blvd. S., Unit 103.

One thousand free tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of four tickets allotted per person. Only registered voters can pick up tickets.

Doors for the “Road to Victory Rally” at Alico Arena on the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University will open at noon Monday.

The Fort Myers event is part of a tour through the crucial swing state of Florida. Palin will be in Clearwater on Monday morning before coming to Fort Myers, then will host events in Jacksonville and Pensacola on Tuesday.

Palin’s jaunt through Florida comes hot on the heels of her performance in Thursday’s vice presidential debate with her counterpart on the Democratic ticket, Joe Biden. The events are designed to rally support for her running mate, John McCain, in a state where 27 electoral votes are up for grabs.
